Topic outline
In this session, Pete Poppe introduced the Treeview control and demonstrate when it can greatly benefit the display of certain types of data within Access applications. The treeview provides a means to show hierarchical data in a compact but expandable form.
Access does not have a native Treeview control but there is an Active X control and third-party versions.
The presentation explained when and how to use the treeview successfully and a “wrapper” class is provided that makes working with treeviews much simpler.
Treeview Example

Background
Pete is currently working as a Data Analyst for a large Material Handling Company that sells, installs, and services everything that makes a modern warehouse run.
BSc in Civil Engineering from the US Air Force Academy and MSc in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School. Served as a 20-year US Marine Corps officer with multiple assignments in “Combat Systems Development” and specifically Test and Evaluation (T&E).
This started Pete’s Access journey as a developer/user to support test and other engineering activities. Found he could do it better and cheaper.
He is not involved with Access in a professional capacity, but as a user it has been an invaluable tool throughout Pete’s career.
Pete has for many years been heavily involved with various forums where he focuses on solutions to complex problems such as optimization and mathematical modeling. Currently he is very active at Access World Forums with the user name MajP and his signature line is Access VBA Savant.
Further Info
In advance of the meeting, it will be useful to download/install the treeview controls that will be used in this session. Please see this link for instructions:
How to Get and Load Treeview Controls
NOTE: (thanks to Bernd Breckt for the following info)
If you have an older version of Access running in 64-bit Windows, you may have problems trying to load the ActiveX treeview control.
If so, you may need to 'register' the Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0 (SP6) library file, MSCOMCTL.OCX. See this article for more details:
SOLVED: MSCOMCTL.OCX Download & Register on 64 Bit Windows

The presentation was by far the best explanation of using treeviews that I've ever seen.
Well worth watching if you missed it . . . and to watch again if you were present!
